1980s
Pacifica Holding Company was founded in 1982 in Los Angeles, California. The company acquired and developed commercial real estate in Southern California until 1987, when it exited the Southern California market due to concerns of overbuilding.
Pacifica entered the Denver market in 1989, which it identified as a promising market for acquisitions.
1990s
Pacifica Holding Company of Colorado established headquarters in Denver, Colorado. From 1989 through 1997, Pacifica assisted both its private and institutional investors in the acquisition, management, leasing and development of numerous commercial properties in the Metro Denver area. Pacifica purchased or developed, on behalf of its clients and partnerships, over 90 properties valued in excess of $500,000,000.
In 1997 and 1998 Pacifica completed eight office development projects totaling approximately 700,000 square feet.
In March, 1998, Pacifica and its 1.4 million square foot office portfolio was acquired by Mack-Cali Realty Corporation, a New Jersey based REIT.
